In the Jane Barker Hall, we walk in the footsteps of those who came before us. Its walls tell the stories of generations of St Catherine's girls. Its beams have witnessed friendships formed and young women preparing for a life of learning.

It is hallowed ground, part of a community that has supported girls’ education since 1856. Communities like this are rare. They endure only because each generation plays its part. Now, it is our turn.

In our 170th year, Jane Barker Hall will be reimagined as a new Senior School Research Centre, set to open in early 2027 and designed to meet the needs of girls today and into the future. Together, we will create a space for every St Catherine’s girl.

It will be a space used by every St Cath's girl, providing our students with not only a beautiful new senior library, but also five additional classrooms, five seminar rooms and a centrally located, genius-style IT help desk.
Funds raised
$650,750
Target
$800,000
This space will belong to every girl. It will shape her days, support her growth and help her discover what is possible. By reimagining Jane Barker Hall as the new Senior School Research Centre, we honour our past while opening the door to a future filled with opportunity for every student, now and for generations to come.

At its heart will be a welcoming, elevated library designed for connection and quiet study. With nearly four times the number of individual study spaces, more girls will be supported in their independent learning than ever before. The project will also provide  five new classrooms that set a new standard for contemporary learning, five seminar rooms designed to support collaboration and a centrally located, genius-style IT help desk which will bring support directly to students, right where it is needed.

Above all, this will be a place not only for study, but for wellbeing. A place where every girl feels known, connected and supported as she learns.
The facilities our daughters enjoy today exist because of those who came before us. Each one was made possible by parents who chose to contribute to something bigger than themselves. Now, it is our turn to continue this legacy.

This is an opportunity to be part of something enduring, to help create a space which will be for each of your daughters, ready for learning in early 2027. Every gift, of any size, brings us closer to this vision.

Any gift of $1,500 or above will be acknowledged by etching your family's name into the very fabric of the new space via a beautiful bronze plaque, creating a lasting acknowledgement that your family was part of this moment, for the generations of St Catherine’s girls who will follow.
